Assistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator
Cassandra Callaway joined the Seton Hall University women’s basketball staff in the spring of 2023 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under head coach Anthony Bozzella. Widely regarded as one of the premier young coaches in the country, Callaway brought six years of Division I assistant coaching experience to South Orange, including three seasons at Eastern Michigan and three at the University of Massachusetts. At Seton Hall, she contributes to recruiting strategy, player development, and overall program operations, continuing to build on a reputation for strong talent evaluation and guard development.
Prior to arriving at Seton Hall, Callaway served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UMass, where she managed recruiting operations and oversaw scouting services while working closely with guards and wing players. During her tenure, the Minutewomen reached the postseason three times, highlighted by an Atlantic 10 Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021-22. UMass also earned WNIT bids in 2021 and 2023, setting program records with 26 and 27 wins in those seasons. Over the past decade, Callaway has mentored numerous All-Atlantic 10 and All-Mid-American Conference selections, including 2021-22 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Sam Breen. A former standout at the University at Albany, she helped lead the Great Danes to their first NCAA Tournament berth in 2011-12 and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Communication and Rhetoric and a minor in Business Administration.
