Carlos Pedraza has served as an assistant coach for the Virginia Commonwealth University men's soccer program in Richmond, Virginia, since May 2024. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, he arrived at VCU with 13 years of coaching experience.
Before joining the Rams, Pedraza spent seven years at Montverde Academy in Florida, working within the Soccer Institute of Montverde Academy, one of the country's leading soccer development programs. He coached players who advanced to the NCAA, USL, MLS, and top European leagues, and in 2018 he led the SIMA Aguilas to a first-place finish in the USL2 Southeast Conference and a berth in the semifinals. He also created SIMA's Individual Position Optimization program and later served as director of the SIMA Pre-Academy, where he implemented the SIMA 360 methodology. Pedraza additionally coached Orlando City's U15 Development Academy team and handled duties that included national recruitment, video analysis, team-building, and individualized training.
