Carlin Hartman
Associate Head Coach
Now in his third year at Florida, Carlin Hartman helped the Gators capture the 2024–25 NCAA championship, capping a 36–4 season that also delivered the program’s fifth SEC Tournament title and sixth Final Four appearance. A key architect of Florida’s identity, Hartman guided a rugged frontcourt (Alex Condon, Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu, Micah Handlogten, Sam Alexis) that powered elite rebounding and second-chance production, with UF setting program records in points, field goals and rebounds while ranking among the nation’s best in offensive rebound rate.
Before Gainesville, Hartman served at UNLV (assistant, 2021–22) and spent five seasons at Oklahoma under Lon Kruger, where the Sooners reached four straight NCAA Tournaments. Recognized by peers as a top Big 12 assistant, he played pivotal roles in recruiting and developing standouts such as Trae Young and Austin Reaves. Earlier posts included associate head coach at Columbia—overlapping two seasons with current UF head coach Todd Golden—and multiple stints at Rice, plus stops at Richmond, Louisiana, James Madison, Centenary and McNeese State. A Tulane alumnus and two-time Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Hartman is also active in social-impact work through the Coaches Coalition for Progress and the Black Assistant Coaches Alliance. His breadth of experience, talent identification, and player development—especially with bigs—have been central to Florida’s rapid rise under Golden.
