Carissa Vittese is the associate head coach for Temple University field hockey in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a position she assumed in March 2025 after returning to the program in 2019 as a volunteer assistant and being elevated to assistant coach in January 2020.
Since rejoining Temple, Vittese has been part of a stretch of notable success for the Owls. In 2025, Temple finished 12-6, featured one of the BIG EAST's top scoring offenses, and recorded wins over Delaware, Drexel, Richmond, and No. 14 Yale. The season included major individual honors for Peyton Rieger and Lucia Magro, while a strong freshman group also made an immediate impact. In 2024, Temple reached the BIG EAST championship game for the first time since 2015 after a double-overtime semifinal win over Old Dominion. That team led the conference in shutouts and completed an unbeaten home season, the program's first since 1981.
