Cannon Gibbs serves as Linebackers/Assistant Position Coach for University of Arkansas's Football program in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Gibbs joined Arkansas after spending three seasons at Florida in the role of quality control – inside linebackers. He arrived to Florida after spending the 2022 season as a graduate assistant working with the secondary at Southern Miss under current.
The Eagles’ defense ranked third nationally in tackles for loss per game (8.3), fifth in sacks (3.38) and seventh in interceptions (17). USM was also third in fourth down conversion defense (.231). Prior to his season at Southern Miss, Gibbs spent two years (2019-20) at Delta State as a graduate assistant coach assisting the linebackers. In his first season, the Statesmen defense led the Golf South Conference in total defense (309.2 ypg – 29th NCAA), rush defense (122.0 ypg – 36th NCAA) and sacks per game (2.70).
