Caleb Lang is the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for William & Mary baseball in Williamsburg, Virginia. He joined the staff in August 2024 and quickly made an impact on the Tribe offense. In his first two seasons, he coached back-to-back CAA Players of the Year in Ben Parker in 2025 and Jamie Laskofski in 2026. Laskofski hit.355 with 13 home runs and 45 RBI as a sophomore in 2026 while ranking among the national leaders in triples and stolen bases. William & Mary finished second in the CAA in batting average that season and ranked among the top 10 nationally in both stolen bases and triples, with the team’s 154 stolen bases breaking a single-season school record that had stood since 1993. Lang’s first year in Williamsburg brought an immediate offensive surge. In 2025, William & Mary led the CAA and ranked 19th nationally with a.311 batting average, the program’s best since 2008. The Tribe also led the league with 603 hits and finished with a.392 on-base percentage. Parker earned ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors and was named CAA Co-Player of the Year after leading the conference in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, doubles, and total bases. Four Tribe hitters earned all-conference honors, including Parker, Lucas Carmichael, Christian Rush, and freshman Jamie Laskofski, who also made the CAA All-Freshman Team. Before William & Mary, Lang served as head coach at Clarion in 2024, where he coached two first-team all-conference selections and helped the Golden Eagles post their highest conference win total since 2021. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at Concordia in Nebraska working primarily with the hitters. That stretch was one of the most productive offensive runs in program history. In his first season, Concordia won a school-record 42 games, reached the NAIA World Series for the first time, and broke school records for home runs, runs scored, and hits.
Four position players earned first-team all-conference recognition. The offense climbed even higher in 2022, when Concordia repeated as GPAC tournament champion, hit 113 home runs, scored 516 runs, and nearly returned to the World Series. In 2023, the Bulldogs again raised their standards, setting school records in runs, hits, home runs, batting average, and stolen bases while producing seven first-team all-conference position players, including GPAC Player of the Year Joey Grabanski. Across Lang’s three seasons as hitting coach, Concordia hit a combined 320 home runs. Lang also spent one season as an assistant coach at Flagler and two years as a graduate assistant at Eastern Nazarene. His coaching résumé includes extensive summer league success as well. In 2023, he managed the Rochester Ridgemen of the New York Collegiate Baseball League and led them to a league championship. In 2022, he was head coach of the Battle Creek Battle Jacks in the Northwoods League, where the team set a record for the most runs scored in franchise history. From 2019 to 2020, he worked with the Traverse City Pit Spitters, helping the club win two league titles. During his years in the Northwoods League, he coached nine future MLB draft picks, including Spencer Schwellenbach, Luke Little, Chad Patrick, Will Mabrey, Mario Camilletti, Kyle Jones, Andrew Hoffman, Zach Fruit, and Braxton Bragg. Earlier, he served as head coach of the Niagara Power in the NYCBL and guided them to a playoff appearance. As a player, Lang competed at Division III Cairn University, where he earned recognition as a two-time DIII All-American, New York Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Year, and three-time first-team National Christian College Athletic Association All-American. He also received the Hank Burbridge Unlimited Potential Award. He completed undergraduate degrees in business administration and biblical studies and later earned a master’s degree in management from Eastern Nazarene. Beyond baseball, Lang has volunteered with the Miracle League, playing baseball with children and adults with physical and mental disabilities, and spent eight weeks in the Dominican Republic teaching baseball and providing meals to people in need.
