Caleb Adams
Virginia Tech, Assistant Coach (Women’s Volleyball) — works primarily with liberos / defensive specialists
Caleb Adams joined Virginia Tech’s women’s volleyball staff in 2020 and has since specialized in coaching back-row defense and libero play. Under his guidance, the program has posted impressive numbers in digs and consistency: for instance, in 2023, his student Iliana Rodriguez recorded 400 digs (7th in the ACC) and played in every set that season; and in prior seasons, players like Logan Mosley and Maddie Slagle have posted high career dig totals and durability metrics.
Before coming to Virginia Tech, Adams spent eight seasons (2012–2019) at Radford University, where he also held a faculty role as associate professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. During his tenure, Radford captured three Big South regular season titles and two Big South tournament championships while appearing in multiple national postseason tournaments. Earlier in his career, Adams had success at the high school and club levels, serving as co-head coach of Kellam High School (VA) and co-founding the Beach Elite Volleyball Club in Virginia Beach.
