Bryan Sabatella is an assistant softball coach at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, and is entering his second season on Holly Aprile's staff. In his first year with the Cardinals in 2024, Louisville finished 27-25 overall and 8-16 in ACC play. Despite injuries and a schedule ranked No. 28 nationally in strength of schedule, the team recorded four wins over top-25 opponents, including ACC champion and Women's College World Series participant Duke. Louisville also turned 21 double plays, a total that ranked third in the ACC and tied for seventh on the program's all-time list. Riley Frizell earned NFCA All-Southeast Region first-team honors, while Frizell and Daisy Hess were named All-ACC third team.
Sabatella joined Louisville after two seasons at Utah Tech, where he worked with the hitters and infielders. In 2023, Utah Tech went 35-18, posted a 19-5 conference record, and won the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title, the first conference championship for the program during its Division I transition. That team ranked second nationally with a .342 batting average and led the NCAA with 114 doubles and 2.15 doubles per game. In his first season there, Utah Tech hit .313, good for 19th in the country, and its infield led the WAC in double plays turned. During his tenure, seven players received all-conference recognition, including 2023 WAC Player of the Year Shea Clements and Freshman of the Year Tanya Windle, and four players were named to the NFCA All-West Region Team.
