Brooks Donald Williams

Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Brooks Donald Williams returned to the University of Alabama women’s basketball program in May 2025 as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, rejoining head coach Kristy Curry’s staff after previously serving with the Crimson Tide from 2016 to 2019. Widely respected as one of the top recruiters in women’s college basketball, Williams brings extensive head coaching and talent evaluation experience to Tuscaloosa. During her earlier tenure at Alabama, she helped sign the nation’s No. 6-ranked recruiting class in 2018 and contributed to the program’s highest win total in nearly two decades. In her current role, she oversees recruiting strategy, assists with player development, and plays a key part in continuing the Tide’s upward trajectory in the SEC. Williams is a two-time Division I head coach, leading McNeese State (2007–16) and Louisiana-Monroe (2019–23) for a combined 13 seasons. At McNeese, she became the program’s all-time winningest coach with 161 victories, guided the Cowgirls to their first NCAA Tournament appearance, and earned Southland Conference Coach of the Year honors. At ULM, she signed multiple top prospects and led the program to notable national statistical rankings while mentoring all-conference performers. Most recently, she served as associate head coach at Southern Miss during the 2024–25 season. A Mississippi State graduate, Williams and her spouse, Tyler, have one son, Griffin.
