Brooke Swift
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Brooke Swift joined the Johns Hopkins women’s basketball staff most recently as an assistant coach, arriving from Austin College (Sherman, TX), where she spent two seasons (2023–25). At Austin, she played a pivotal role in turning around a struggling program, helping lead the squad to back-to-back nine-win seasons after inheriting a team that went winless in conference play. Before that, Swift spent two seasons (2021–23) as a graduate assistant at Converse University, where she was involved in all facets of coaching and player development as the program rebuilt.
From 2019 to 2021, Swift was an assistant coach at Colorado College, contributing to the Tigers’ first-ever appearance in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship game. During her tenure there, she helped mentor the 2021 SCAC Player of the Year, the 2021 SCAC Newcomer of the Year, and three All-Conference athletes. Earlier, in 2018–19 she returned to her alma mater Southwestern University as an assistant coach, where she assisted in developing two All-Conference players. A former point guard and team captain at Southwestern, Swift helped lead her team to a 2015 SCAC Championship and a runner-up finish in 2018. Academically, she excelled as well, earning the Director of Athletics Academic Excellence Award twice and being named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll in consecutive seasons. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from Southwestern University and a Master of Liberal Arts from Converse University.
