Brian Washburn has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the men’s tennis program at Flagler College since 2013, contributing primarily through clinics, summer camps, and team support operations. During his long tenure with the program, he has been recognized as the ITA Southeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year twice, in 2023 and 2025.

An alumnus of Flagler College, Washburn graduated in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology, and during his time as a student-athlete he played baseball for the Saints from 1978-79 and was selected to the All-Decade Team for the 1970s. Outside of collegiate coaching, he has a rich history in tennis coaching, including leading after-school and middle-school tennis programs, earning certification through the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) in 2011, and engaging in USTA membership and personal development in tennis alongside his family.
