Brian Stewart serves as Asst. Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for Middle Tennessee State University's Football program in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. A veteran with more than 30 years of coaching experience at the college and professional levels, Stewart is in his third season on Derek Mason's staff while overseeing the safeties. In 2025, his unit ranked second in Conference USA in rushing defense and helped produce first-team all-conference selection Damonte Smith, second-team honoree Parker Hughes, and safety Xavier Williams, who led the Blue Raiders in tackles after moving from quarterback midseason.
Before arriving at Middle Tennessee, Stewart built a long resume across the NFL, XFL, and major college football. His previous stops included coordinator roles with the DC Defenders and Baylor, and his background includes developing defensive backs and contributing to top-tier defensive units at both the pro and collegiate levels.
