Brianna Thomas is an assistant coach for Duquesne University women's basketball in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is in her second season on the staff in 2026-27. A Duquesne alumna, she returned to her alma mater after two seasons at Brown University, where she served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Brown won more than 28 games across her two years in Providence, including the program's first 16-win season since 2016-17 in 2023-24. She worked with both guards and post players and was part of the development of Grace Arnolie, a 2025 Second Team All-Ivy selection, and Kyla Jones, who earned first-team All-Ivy honors after the 2023-24 season.
Before Brown, Thomas spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Her work there included recruiting, scheduling, and creating a leadership curriculum for team captains. As the lead assistant for the guards, she recruited Lili Nagy, identified as the program's first player from Hungary, and was on staff as Caroline Smith earned Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-State Second Team recognition and Lydia Mordarski was named to the MWBCA All-Rookie Team. Earlier in her coaching career, Thomas was a graduate assistant at Boston College in 2020 after serving as an assistant coach at Merrimack College. Merrimack went 20-9 in its first NCAA Division I season, and Thomas worked closely with the forwards, including Denia Davis-Stewart, who was named Northeast Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
