Brian McDonald is an assistant coach for Northeastern University men's basketball in Boston, Massachusetts, and has served on the Huskies' staff since the 2010-11 season. His responsibilities have included working with the guards, assisting with recruiting, and managing daily program duties. In 2016, he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team.
During McDonald's time on the staff, Northeastern reached the NCAA tournament in 2015 and 2019 and advanced to three straight CAA championship games from 2018 through 2020. The program also won five CAA championships across an 11-season span, including regular-season titles in 2013, 2015, and 2018. In 2014-15, Northeastern shared the CAA regular-season title, won its first CAA tournament championship, and returned to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 24 years.
