Brian Keats is the associate head coach for women's swimming and diving at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. He joined the Catamounts' coaching staff before the 2015-16 season and has been part of a period of sustained success for the program, including Vermont's first America East championship. His work with the team has coincided with multiple strong conference finishes, All-Conference performances, and record-setting results.
Among the program's recent highlights, Vermont posted a 7-4 overall record and won both the NJIT Invite and the Harold Anderson Invitational, and at the 2024 America East Championships the Catamounts recorded nine varsity records, seven first-year records, and four gold medals. In 2023, Vermont finished third at the America East Championships for the 11th straight season, with Jackie House setting a school record in the 100 freestyle and Vermont earning a medal finish and All-Conference recognition in the 800 freestyle relay. That same championship meet also saw the program claim its first Female Rookie Swimmer of the Meet award through Natalie Schlemmer, while House was named Most Outstanding Female Swimmer. Vermont added six All-Conference honorees and three America East All-Academic Team selections that season. In 2022-23, the Catamounts won the Harold Anderson Invitational for the first time in program history and also finished first at the NJIT Invitational with a program-record 1348 points. At the 2022 America East Championships, Vermont placed third for the 10th consecutive year and swept the 200, 400, and 800 freestyle relays.
