Brian Daley
Head Coach
Brian Daley enters his first season as the head softball coach at Alabama A&M University, bringing extensive collegiate and high school coaching experience to the Bulldogs. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Edward Waters University and previously held head coaching positions at Bethany College and Penn State–Greater Allegheny. Daley has enjoyed multiple successful stints at Edward Waters, including a historic 2022 season in which he guided the Lady Tigers to a 32-11 overall record, the second-best mark in the program’s modern era. That team was recognized as the 2022 NAIA Division HBCU Softball National Champion by the Black College Sports Network.
During his leadership at Edward Waters, Daley developed standout student-athletes, including Milani Sablan, who recorded the program’s first perfect game of the modern era and surpassed 100 strikeouts in a season. His teams consistently improved offensively and competitively, earning conference honors and national recognition. Prior to his collegiate coaching career, Daley led Nathan B. Forrest/Westside High School to 36 victories and coached with prominent travel organizations. Beyond athletics, Daley is a retired detective from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and a former Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Army Reserves. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in leadership, and is pursuing a second master’s degree in kinesiology with a focus on coaching.
