Brent Vernon is the chief of staff for Wake Forest football in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a position he officially assumed on January 21, 2025. He joined Coach Jake Dickert's staff after serving as chief of staff for Dickert at Washington State from 2021 through 2024. Vernon and Dickert also previously worked together for three seasons at Wyoming from 2017 to 2019 on Craig Bohl's staff.
At Wake Forest, Vernon oversees the administrative operations of the football program, including the team budget and coordination with athletics administration, academics, and other support areas. He arrived after a long tenure at Wyoming, where he spent 13 seasons and advanced through several roles. He was promoted to associate athletics director for football operations in 2018 after becoming assistant athletics director for football operations in 2017. Earlier positions at Wyoming included executive assistant to the head coach, assistant director of football operations, director of recruiting, and offensive graduate assistant.
