Brendan Kincaid
Head Men's Tennis Coach
Brendan Kincaid took over as the head men’s tennis coach at Johns Hopkins in July 2021, entering a program with high expectations. In his first seasons, he has produced notable successes — in 2025, Hopkins posted a 16-8 record and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals as an independent, with three players (Rajendra, Blenkiron, Ardila) competing in NCAA singles or doubles; Rajendra reached the quarterfinal round. The year prior (2024), the team went 15-7 and reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, with six Blue Jays collectively earning nine All-Centennial Conference honors.
In 2023, under his leadership, Hopkins recorded a 19-5 season and saw two players reach the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships, one of whom also reached the singles semifinals. His first season saw a strong 19-2 performance, including nine wins over ranked opponents, a Centennial Conference championship, and an appearance in the NCAA Second Round.
Before coming to Hopkins, Kincaid served as head coach at Haverford (2019–2021). In his first season at Haverford, he guided the team to a 13-8 overall record, with a 7-2 mark in the Centennial Conference, a conference semifinal berth, and was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year. Prior to Haverford, he led Goucher College’s tennis program from 2013–2018, where he dramatically improved their performance — leading them to multiple conference championships and NCAA appearances, and earned Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honors. Kincaid began his coaching career at his alma mater, Salisbury University, serving as assistant from 2009 to 2012, during which time he helped both men’s and women’s teams to numerous wins and postseason success.
A Cambridge, Maryland native, Kincaid played for Salisbury in singles and doubles. He was a multiple-time All-CAPAC (Capital Athletic Conference) selection in both disciplines and, as a senior, earned ITA All-America recognition and the title of ITA Atlantic South Senior Player of the Year. He was inducted into the Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023.
