Brenda Howe has led the Eastern Washington University women’s golf program since the 2009–10 season, building a sustained culture of competitive growth and academic excellence. A former Eagle herself, Howe returned to her alma mater with both collegiate playing experience and professional insight, and she has since guided the program through more than a decade of steady improvement. Under her leadership, Eastern Washington has produced multiple top finishes at Big Sky Conference Championships and tournaments such as the Bobcat Desert Classic, while consistently outperforming preseason expectations. Her athletes have earned All-Big Sky honors, individual tournament victories, and conference recognition, reflecting her ability to develop talent and maintain competitive consistency.
Equally notable is Howe’s emphasis on academic achievement. Her teams have regularly ranked among the top GPA programs in NCAA Division I women’s golf, including a Big Sky Team Academic Championship and national recognition for academic performance. She has coached numerous WGCA All-American Scholars, often placing the entire roster on the list in a given season. Prior to her tenure at Eastern Washington, Howe worked as a golf professional and served as an assistant coach at Washington State, where she contributed to recruiting and player development at a high level. As a student-athlete, she earned All-Big Sky honors and academic accolades, laying the foundation for her holistic coaching philosophy that prioritizes both performance and personal development.
