Bob Surace
Head Coach
Bob Surace is the highly accomplished head football coach at Princeton University, where he has led the Tigers since the 2010 season. A 1990 Princeton graduate and former first-team All-Ivy League center, Surace has built Princeton into one of the top programs in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Under his leadership, the Tigers have won multiple Ivy League championships (2013, 2016, 2018, and 2021) and achieved Princeton’s first perfect season since 1964 with a 10–0 record in 2018. His teams have frequently ranked among the nation’s best offensively and defensively, and Surace has engineered some of the highest-scoring offenses in Ivy League history while mentoring standout players who have gone on to successful professional careers.
Before his tenure at Princeton, Surace gained valuable experience coaching in both professional and collegiate settings, including nine years in the National Football League with the Cincinnati Bengals and head coaching at Western Connecticut State University. At Princeton, he has overseen consistent team success with numerous All-Ivy League selections and Bushnell Cup winners, while also earning recognition as an Eddie Robinson Jr. National Head Coach of the Year finalist and Ivy League Coach of the Year. Surace’s leadership reflects both his deep ties to the Princeton community and his broad coaching expertise, combining competitive excellence with strong player development.
