Bob Hofstetter is in his eighth season as an Assistant Coach for the Western Washington University Men’s Basketball program and has been a valued member of the WWU community for 24 years overall. Returning to the staff in 2016-17, he played a key role in helping the Vikings secure the GNAC Championship. Hofstetter brings extensive administrative and operational expertise, having served 17 years as Associate Director of Facilities & Operations for Campus Recreation and seven years as an Account Executive and Ticket Manager for WWU Athletics. His experience also includes seven years as General Manager of the Bellingham Slam, a minor league basketball team that captured two International Basketball League national titles during his tenure.
A native of Washington, Hofstetter is a graduate of Tolt High School, where he was a three-sport letter winner and earned Cascade League all-star honors in basketball. He continued his athletic career at Everett Community College, lettering two years in basketball for the Trojans, before earning a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Washington State University in 1994. Known for his combination of coaching, operational management, and mentorship, Hofstetter provides a strong foundation for the Vikings program, supporting both on-court success and student-athlete development. He and his wife, Susan, have two children, daughter Kellie and son Kyle.
