Bobby Buchanan serves as Assistant Coach for University of Mississippi's Softball program in University, Mississippi. Buchanan’s work with the offense spearheaded a record-breaking unit, who set school records in single season hits, home runs, doubles, RBI, total bases and runs scored. Buchanan was a key piece of the coaching staff that was selected as the ATEC/NFCA South Region Staff of the Year following the season.
Ole Miss softball head coach Jamie Trachsel added Bobby Buchanan as an assistant coach to the program in July 2024 with Buchanan set for his second season in Oxford heading in the 2026 season. In Buchanan’s first season in Oxford, he helped oversee a historic campaign in which the Rebels reached the program’s first ever Women’s College World Series.
