BJ McKie is the Tucker Family Assistant Basketball Coach for Wake Forest men's basketball in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He joined Steve Forbes' staff in May 2020 after spending three seasons with Forbes at East Tennessee State, following an earlier coaching tenure at Charleston Southern that began in 2011 and eventually led to his promotion to associate head coach.
Since arriving at Wake Forest, McKie has been part of a sustained run of success that has included 104 overall wins, 54 ACC regular-season victories, and 74 home wins, a total tied for seventh nationally and second in the ACC over that span. Wake Forest matched the school's single-season high for ACC wins with 13 in both 2021-22 and 2024-25, and the program posted three straight seasons of double-digit conference victories from 2021-22 through 2023-24, its best such stretch since the mid-1990s.
