BJ Das
Associate Head Coach
BJ Das joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics coaching staff in 2020 as a volunteer assistant and choreographer, was promoted to full-time assistant coach for the 2023 season, and earned promotion to Associate Head Coach in June 2025. In her time at UCLA, she has been instrumental in maintaining the program’s dominance on floor exercise, choreographing multiple routines that earned perfect 10.0 scores—including gymnasts such as Brooklyn Moors and Jordan Chiles—and helping the team win three conference titles and finish as NCAA runner-up in 2025. Her creative vision, combined with a deep background in dance and professional choreography, has brought a distinctive performance style and team culture to the Bruins.
Prior to UCLA, Das was a volunteer assistant coach/choreographer at the University of Utah in 2019, and she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Washington in 2006, where she also competed for two years on the Husky gymnastics team. As a professional dancer and choreographer, she has performed live with major artists such as Beyoncé, P!nk and Usher, toured with Avril Lavigne, contributed to major music videos and television productions, and developed viral floor exercise routines that crossed the boundary between sport and artistry. At UCLA she has leveraged that blend of elite dance experience and gymnastics coaching to elevate both technique and performance quality across her floor squads.
