Billy Napier
Head Coach
Billy Napier was named the 29th head coach of Florida Football on November 28, 2021, and enters his fourth season leading the Gators in 2025. His tenure has featured a strong 2024 finish: Florida closed with four straight wins, capped by a 33–8 victory over Tulane in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl to end the year 8–5. The bowl triumph highlighted a late-season surge that included ranked wins and marked Florida’s first bowl win since 2019.
Before arriving in Gainesville, Napier elevated Louisiana to national relevance from 2018–21, going 40–12 with four straight division titles, two Sun Belt championships, and consecutive AP Poll finishes — the best modern run in program history. He previously coordinated offenses or coached quarterbacks and receivers at Arizona State and Alabama, contributing to elite units and multiple national titles under Nick Saban; he also served in several roles at Clemson, becoming the Tigers’ offensive coordinator at age 29. A former Furman quarterback and two-time All-SoCon pick, Napier is known for program-building, player development, and disciplined, efficient football.
