Ben Kerr has served as West Virginia University's director of player personnel for football in Morgantown, West Virginia, since December 2025. He works in recruiting and scouting, oversees several personnel staff positions, leads personnel meetings, manages transfer portal activity, and coordinates communication on priority prospects for the head coach and staff. His responsibilities also include advance scouting reports during the season, analysis of recruiting data and roster personnel, review of prospect files, and oversight of the student assistant development program.
Kerr arrived at WVU after seven years on the Penn State football staff in a series of administrative roles. He was Penn State's director of football administration from August 2019 to July 2025, then director of football operations, and later interim chief of staff beginning in November 2025. At Penn State, he handled daily football operations, supervised administrative functions, managed the program budget, oversaw football-related contracts, coordinated bowl operations, and served as a liaison with university offices and the Big Ten Conference.
