Ben Freeman is an assistant coach for the University at Buffalo wrestling program in Buffalo, New York, and is in his third season on the staff. A former Buffalo wrestler, he lettered for the Bulls for two seasons at 141 pounds in 2020-21 and 2021-22, finishing 9-8 in dual matches and 4-5 in Mid-American Conference duals in his final season. He earned his degree in psychology from UB in 2022.
Before returning to Buffalo, Freeman spent three seasons competing at 141 pounds for the University of Michigan from 2017 to 2020. His college career there included a title at the Edinboro Open and an eighth-place finish at the 2018 Midlands Championships, though his final season was shortened by injury.
