Benedick Hyppolite is entering his second season on head coach Willie Simmons' staff. Year one for Hyppolite was a success, as the Panthers rushing offense ranked fourth in Conference USA, highlighted by running back Kejon Owens who recorded the single-best season for an FIU running back in program history, rushing for 1,334 yards, the most in program history and 11 rushing touchdowns. Under Hyppolite, freshman running back Sterling Joseph became the fourth FIU freshman to have multiple rushing TDs in a game and the first since Silas Spearman III on 10/5/13 @ Southern Miss.
