Becky Clark
Head Coach
Becky Clark has served as the only head coach in University of South Alabama softball history, building the program from its inception into one of the premier mid-major programs in Division I. Named head coach in 2005 prior to the team’s first season, Clark has led the Jaguars to three Sun Belt Conference Tournament championships (2012, 2013, 2015) and six NCAA Regional final appearances. Over her tenure, South Alabama has surpassed the 40-win mark four times and consistently competed among the nation’s top programs, including multiple Top 25 rankings. Clark has amassed more than 700 career victories across her head coaching stops, including over 550 at South Alabama, and has earned Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors three times.
Under Clark’s leadership, the Jaguars have produced numerous individual standouts, including Sun Belt Players, Pitchers, and Freshmen of the Year, as well as NFCA All-Americans and All-Region selections. The program has also achieved national success in the classroom, with hundreds of academic honors awarded to student-athletes during her tenure. In recent seasons, South Alabama has earned signature wins over nationally ranked opponents and continued postseason appearances, highlighted by strong pitching performances and record-setting individual careers. A Brierfield, Alabama native, Clark previously led the University of Mobile to national prominence before launching the Jaguar program. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mobile and remains one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in Sun Belt history.
