In 2017, the Buff and Blue won the program's first conference championship and reached the NCAA Tournament, then repeated as conference champions in 2018 and earned the school's first NCAA Tournament victory. His teams reached the MAWPC championship game four times between 2017 and 2025 and added four third-place finishes, keeping GW among the league's top programs. The 2018 team produced one of the best seasons in school history, finishing with 23 wins, a No. 11 national ranking, a conference title, and an NCAA overtime win over Princeton before advancing to face UCLA in the national quarterfinals. The 2017 squad also posted a notable breakthrough season, winning three games in three days to claim the MAWPC title and finishing with a No. 17 ranking.
