B.J. Green
Associate Head Coach
B.J. Green enters his fourth season as Associate Head Coach for the UAB baseball program in 2025, bringing extensive experience in pitching development and program success. Since arriving in Birmingham, Green has overseen one of the most productive pitching staffs in recent program history. In both 2022 and 2024, the Blazers recorded 419 strikeouts, tying for the second-most in school history. His staffs have consistently ranked among the conference leaders in earned run average, strikeouts, and limiting walks. Under his guidance, UAB pitchers have earned multiple all-conference honors, including Blayze Berry (First Team All-AAC) and Colin Daniel (Second Team All-AAC), as well as Conference USA selections Collin Taylor and Thomas Ballard in 2022.
Before joining UAB, Green served as pitching coach at Georgia Southern from 2009-21, helping the Eagles to multiple Sun Belt Conference championship game appearances and developing All-Americans and MLB Draft selections. Notably, Nick Jones earned NCBWA First Team All-American honors in 2021 after leading the nation in saves. Green also spent seven seasons on staff at Alabama, contributing to numerous NCAA Tournament appearances and conference titles. A former four-year letterman for the Crimson Tide, Green compiled an 18-4 career record and helped lead Alabama to the 1999 College World Series. A native of Gardendale, Alabama, he holds a degree in sports fitness management from Alabama.
