Austin Carroll is an assistant coach for the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team in Kingston, Rhode Island. He entered his sixth season with the Rams in 2024-25 after joining the program on Sept. 3, 2019, and was retained by Archie Miller after serving three seasons on David Cox's staff. Carroll and Miller previously worked together on Sean Miller's USA Basketball U19 staff that won the gold medal at the 2015 FIBA World Championships in Greece.
Before Rhode Island, Carroll spent five seasons at Arizona. He began as a graduate assistant, moved into the assistant director of operations role, and was promoted to assistant coach for the 2018-19 season. His work included video scouting, film breakdown and presentation, recruiting video production, and academic oversight. During his time there, Arizona went 135-41, reached four NCAA Tournaments, won three Pac-12 tournament titles, and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2015 and the Sweet 16 in 2017. A Massachusetts native, Carroll is the son of former Rhode Island assistant coach John Carroll.
