Head Coach

Ashley Fisher has led the University of South Florida men’s tennis program through one of the most successful stretches in school history since being promoted to head coach in July 2016. Under his leadership, the Bulls have made four NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the second round, and captured American Athletic Conference team championships in 2017 and 2019. Fisher earned AAC Coach of the Year honors in both championship seasons and has guided USF to sustained national relevance, highlighted by NCAA Tournament victories over Duke and Alabama. His teams have produced one ITA All-American, multiple AAC Players of the Year, and consistent postseason success, establishing USF as a formidable program within the conference and beyond. Before transitioning fully into coaching, Fisher enjoyed an accomplished professional playing career spanning 14 seasons on the ATP Tour. A former world No. 19 in doubles, he captured four ATP Tour doubles titles and reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open in 2006, along with quarterfinal appearances at Wimbledon and the Australian Open. A two-time NCAA All-American at TCU and former No. 1-ranked collegiate doubles player, Fisher also served on the ATP Player Council alongside some of the sport’s biggest names. Following his playing career, he worked as a broadcaster for Tennis Channel, ATP Media, and FOX Sports, while also coaching professional players on tour. Combining elite international experience with a competitive, developmental mindset, Fisher continues to elevate USF men’s tennis with a vision focused on sustained excellence and breakthrough success.
