Arron Spencer, a former University of Oregon student-athlete, has played a key role in the development and success of the Ducks’ men’s tennis program since returning to Eugene in 2018. Now in his seventh season with the program and fourth as associate head coach, Spencer has helped guide Oregon to consistent competitive success, including an 84-61 overall record during his tenure and a second-round appearance in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. His impact has been particularly evident in player development, with multiple athletes earning national rankings and all-conference honors, as well as a doubles team reaching the NCAA individual championships—only the second such occurrence in program history.
Before rejoining Oregon, Spencer built a diverse coaching résumé with collegiate and developmental experience. He served as an assistant coach at Arizona and the College of Charleston, where he contributed to recruiting, operations, and student-athlete development. His background also includes high-performance training roles and international service work, co-founding a nonprofit initiative in South Africa focused on community programs. As a player at Oregon, Spencer was a team captain and nationally ranked doubles competitor, helping lead the Ducks to an NCAA Tournament appearance. His blend of playing experience, coaching expertise, and leadership continues to shape Oregon’s presence on the national tennis stage.
