Aric Thomas
Assistant Coach - Recruiting Coordinator
Aric Thomas enters his ninth season with the Florida Gators softball program in 2026, focusing on developing outfielders and hitters and leading the team’s recruiting operations. Over his first eight seasons, Florida posted a 362-117 (.755) record, made five Women’s College World Series appearances, and won three SEC regular season and three SEC Tournament titles.
His impact is especially evident in recent seasons: in 2025, the Gators set a program record with a .334 batting average, slugged 109 home runs, ranked first in the nation in walks, and ranked among the NCAA’s top-10 in multiple offensive categories including hits, home runs, on-base percentage, RBI, slugging percentage, runs, and sacrifice flies. Several hitters coached by Thomas have earned high honors — NFCA All-American status, SEC Player of the Year, SEC Tournament MVP, etc.
Thomas brings wide coaching experience, especially from his time in college baseball. Before Florida, he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for University of Tennessee, where he helped assemble top-signing classes and coached numerous players who became MLB draftees. He also coached at his alma mater (University of Oklahoma), Eastern Oklahoma State, and directed baseball operations in multiple roles. His depth of offensive and player development expertise carries over strongly into his current softball coaching.
