Archie Miller is the head coach of the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team in Kingston, Rhode Island, a position he assumed on March 18, 2022, as the 21st head coach in program history. He entered the 2024-25 season in his third year with the Rams after arriving with extensive Atlantic 10 experience and a decade of head coaching success at Dayton and Indiana.
Before taking over at Rhode Island, Miller compiled a 206-121 record across 10 seasons as a head coach and averaged more than 20 victories per year. His teams reached national postseason play six times before he came to Kingston. Much of that record was built at Dayton, where he spent six seasons and established himself as one of the conference's most successful coaches. The Flyers won Atlantic 10 regular-season titles in 2016 and 2017, reached the NCAA Tournament four straight times from 2014 through 2017, and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2014. Dayton was nationally ranked in three of his six seasons, and Miller was recognized as the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He also was a finalist for the 2015 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award.
