Anthony Rossi
Associate Head Coach
Anthony Rossi was hired on June 8, 2024 to be the Associate Head Coach of the Florida Gators Men’s Tennis program, joining the staff under Head Coach Adam Steinberg. Rossi came to Florida after serving as the Head Coach at VCU for six seasons (2018-2024), where he built a strong record of success in conference play and NCAA qualification. At VCU, Rossi compiled a 79-31 record over his first five years as head coach, led the Rams to five Atlantic 10 Conference regular season and/or tournament titles, and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
He was also responsible for developing individual standouts: during the 2024 season one of his players, Matisse Bobichon, won a singles match in the NCAA tournament, and Junior Mathis Bondaz earned a top-60 national ITA ranking and was recognized as the conference’s Outstanding Performer. Rossi also had success in NCAA Doubles: in 2022, twin brothers Charles and Max Bertimon under Rossi were ITA All-Americans.
Prior to being head coach, Rossi was an assistant at VCU, and earlier served in coaching roles at Kentucky (volunteer/graduate assistant) while also having a prolific playing career at Kentucky (2010-13), where he was an All-American in his senior year, SEC First-Team, team captain, and SEC All-Tournament selection.
