Andy Shilling is an assistant coach for the Towson University men's lacrosse program in Towson, Maryland. Entering his 11th season with the Tigers, he was promoted to assistant coach in 2024 after serving as the program's volunteer assistant for the previous seven seasons. Since joining Towson in 2017, he has worked primarily with the goalkeepers and offense, and he assumed responsibility for the extra-man unit in 2019.
Under Shilling's direction, Towson's goalkeepers and man-up offense have produced strong results. In 2026, goalkeeper Matt Nilan was named CAA Defensive Player of the Year, the program's first winner of that award since 2018, while Towson led the CAA and ranked ninth nationally in man-up efficiency at 46.2 percent. In 2025, Towson won its second straight CAA Tournament title and completed an unbeaten conference regular season, with the Tigers again finishing among the national leaders in man-up offense. In Shilling's first season as an assistant coach in 2024, Towson captured its first CAA Tournament championship since 2019 and its first undefeated CAA regular season since 2004. That year, first-year starting goalkeeper Luke Downs earned All-CAA Second Team honors and ranked fifth nationally in goals-against average, while Towson finished second in Division I in scoring defense.
