Andrew Furman
Pitching Coach
Andrew Furman is in his 14th season with the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays baseball program, serving as the team’s pitching coach. Under his guidance, the Blue Jays have made four NCAA Division III Championship appearances since 2019, including a national runner-up finish in 2023. His work has also helped produce multiple standout players: two Centennial Conference Pitchers of the Year, two ABCA Regional Pitchers of the Year, a D3Baseball.com Regional Pitcher of the Year, and four CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.
Furman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Gettysburg College, where he played baseball as a catcher. (hopkinssports.com
) He furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Psychological and Brain Sciences from Johns Hopkins, and completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland, where he also works as a Clinical Research Assistant. His dual role in athletics and research reflects a balanced commitment to both performance and academic excellence.
