Andres Ochoa
Assistant Coach
Andres Ochoa joined the UCLA Bruins men’s soccer coaching staff in February 2021, entering his sixth season with the program by 2025. During his tenure, the Bruins have compiled a record of 42-31-15 and made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances under his guidance. In 2024, his efforts as part of the coaching staff helped UCLA transition into the Big Ten Conference while facing one of the toughest match-ups in the nation and still earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year.
Prior to UCLA, Ochoa was on the staff at the University of the Pacific for the 2018-19 seasons, beginning as a volunteer assistant and then serving as assistant coach. He played four years as a student-athlete at Pacific, starting 72 games and tallying three goals and 12 assists, with two of his goals being game-winners. He holds a B.A. from Pacific and completed an M.A. in Sport Management and Coaching at the Soccer Management Institute in Rome in 2020. A native of Guadalajara, Mexico, Ochoa also played professionally in Italy (ASD Aranova) and Mexico (Atlético Capitalino FC) and in U.S. developmental leagues (FC Wichita, Portland Timbers U-23s). His international playing experience, academic credentials, and continued growth as a coach give him a well-rounded profile to support UCLA’s player development and strategic objectives.
