Amanda O'Leary
Head Coach
Amanda O’Leary, one of collegiate lacrosse’s winningest coaches, completed her 16th season leading Florida in 2025 after being hired on June 22, 2007 to build the Gators’ inaugural program from the ground up. Since Florida’s first competitive season in 2010, she has guided the Gators to consistent national relevance with 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, three NCAA Final Fours (2012, 2024, 2025), and a haul of conference titles across the ALC, BIG EAST, AAC, and—most recently—the Big 12 in 2025. Her career record ranks among the best nationally, and Florida’s recent surge includes back-to-back 20-win seasons (2024, 2025) and a 40–6 combined mark over those two years. O’Leary’s student-athletes have earned dozens of IWLCA All-America honors and national award recognition, reflecting the program’s high standards in attack, defense, and goalkeeping alike.
The 2025 campaign underscored Florida’s evolution under O’Leary: a 20–3 overall record, clean 5–0 Big 12 slate, both the league’s regular-season and tournament championships, and a return to the national semifinals. She was named 2025 Big 12 Coach of the Year as the Gators produced multiple major conference award winners and seven All-Big 12 selections, while ranking among the nation’s leaders in efficiency and scoring margin. Before Florida, O’Leary spent 14 seasons as Yale’s head coach with two NCAA appearances and a share of the 2003 Ivy League title. As a player, she was a two-sport All-American at Temple and a U.S. National Team standout, later earning induction into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
