Alissa Smith
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Alissa Smith joined the Rollins College softball coaching staff in the fall of 2022 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach, bringing more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience to the Tars program. In her role at Rollins, Smith assists with recruiting, practice planning, and the implementation of offensive and defensive drills, providing veteran leadership and technical expertise to the coaching staff. Her extensive background across multiple collegiate levels has made her a valuable resource in player development and daily program operations within the Sunshine State Conference.
Prior to her time at Rollins, Smith built a long and accomplished coaching résumé that includes assistant coaching stops at Bethune-Cookman University, the University of Maryland, Daytona State College, and St. Johns River State College. At Bethune-Cookman, she helped guide the Wildcats to five consecutive MEAC championships and multiple NCAA postseason appearances, including a 49-win season and a trip to the NCAA Super Regional in 2005, when the coaching staff earned NFCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors. As a collegiate athlete, Smith began her playing career at Daytona Beach Community College before transferring to Florida A&M University, where she earned a degree in psychology and helped lead the Rattlers to a MEAC championship. She later earned a degree in management from the University of Phoenix. Smith resides in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and continues to contribute her experience and passion for the sport to the development of Rollins softball student-athletes.
