Head Coach
Alicia Um Holmes has continued UCLA’s proud women’s golf tradition as the program’s head coach, entering her third season in 2025–26. Appointed on May 25, 2023, Um Holmes made an immediate impact, leading the Bruins to a runner-up finish at the 2024 NCAA Championships and earning Golfweek Women’s Coach of the Year honors in her debut season. Across her first two seasons, she has guided UCLA to five team victories, two NCAA Championship appearances, and multiple individual accolades. In 2025, she steered the Bruins to their 35th NCAA Championships berth after a strong postseason push, highlighted by a victory at the Bruin Wave Invitational and a top-four finish at the PING/ASU Invitational. Her leadership has reaffirmed UCLA’s position among the nation’s elite, blending a disciplined competitive approach with a legacy of player development.
A UCLA alumna and former standout golfer for the Bruins, Um Holmes previously spent 17 years as an assistant and associate head coach under Carrie Forsyth, helping the program capture the 2011 NCAA title, two Pac-12 Championships, and five NCAA Regional crowns. During that time, she coached numerous All-Americans and future LPGA stars, including Alison Lee, Bronte Law, Lilia Vu, and Patty Tavatanakit. Since becoming head coach, she has developed WGCA All-Americans Zoe Antoinette Campos and Caroline Canales, with Campos earning First Team honors and recognition as an ANNIKA Award finalist. Known for her technical expertise, recruiting acumen, and connection to the Bruin legacy, Um Holmes has positioned UCLA to sustain national championship contention for years to come.
