Mastin was officially announced as part of the Chargers’ coaching staff ahead of the 2024-25 season, bringing a strong work ethic, high character, and valuable recruiting connections to UAH’s basketball operations. In his role, he contributes to player development, scouting, recruiting, and overall team preparation for Gulf South Conference competition. His responsibilities include helping players refine their skills, assisting with practice planning, and participating in game-day strategy to support the Chargers’ competitive goals.
Before joining UAH, Mastin served as an assistant coach at the University of Montevallo, a fellow Gulf South Conference member, where his work with that program contributed to one of the league’s more productive offenses. He also coached at the high school level, including as JV/varsity assistant at Albertville High School and as varsity head coach at The Donoho School. Mastin began his coaching career as a manager for the Auburn University men’s basketball program, his alma mater, from 2011-13, and later expanded his experience coaching in AAU basketball. His background across multiple coaching environments reflects a strong commitment to mentorship and the development of student-athletes.
