Alex Carpenter
Assistant Coach
Alex Carpenter enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Florida Institute of Technology baseball program in 2026. After a successful playing career with the Panthers, he was hired as an assistant coach in January 2023 following a semester serving as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2022. In his first full season on staff, Carpenter helped guide Florida Tech to a 23-26 record, including a key series victory over #12 Wingate, and was instrumental in supporting standout pitching performances such as that of Danny Vassallo, who finished with one of the lowest earned-run averages among qualifying Sunshine State Conference pitchers. In 2025, the Panthers finished with a 24-24 overall mark, notching upsets over top-ranked opponents and finishing with one of the best team ERA and walk-rate figures in the conference.
Carpenter’s connection to Florida Tech baseball extends to his playing days; in his final season as a Panther in 2022, he appeared in 17 games, accumulated six saves, struck out 22 batters, and limited opponents to a .187 batting average, finishing his collegiate pitching career with a 2.91 ERA and 13 career saves. He also made history as the first Florida Tech player to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, reflecting his excellence on the field and in the classroom. Carpenter graduated from Florida Tech in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at the same institution.
