Adam Sportsman
Assistant Soccer Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Adam Sportsman joined the University of North Alabama women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach on June 1, 2022, and also serves as the program’s recruiting coordinator. Entering his third season with the Lions, Sportsman played a key role in helping guide UNA to its most successful Division I campaign in 2023. The Lions finished 11-5-6 and advanced to the ASUN Championship Final, marking a historic season for the program. That year included 13 shutouts, seven ASUN postseason honors, and an Academic All-American selection in Alice Bussey, reflecting both competitive and academic excellence within the squad.
Prior to arriving in Florence, Sportsman spent one season as an assistant coach at the University of Evansville, helping the Purple Aces to their best start in program history and an appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Final. He previously served as a graduate assistant at Auburn University during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, contributing to a 10-5-3 record in the split 2020–21 campaign and a quarterfinal run in the SEC Tournament. During his tenure at Auburn, he coached six All-SEC players and two NWSL Draft selections. Sportsman also worked as head student manager and analyst at the University of Missouri, overseeing statistical analysis efforts. A former collegiate player at MidAmerica Nazarene University, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri and a master’s degree in education from Auburn.
