Adam Niemczynowicz is the head coach of Sacred Heart men’s volleyball in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was hired to lead the program after a five-year stint at Bard College, where he guided the Raptors in the United Volleyball Conference, one of the stronger NCAA Division III leagues in the country. Alongside his coaching duties at Bard, he also served as an assistant athletic director. After the 2021 season was canceled, Niemczynowicz helped Bard post its highest win total since 2016. His experience at Bard combined program leadership, competitive development, and athletic department responsibilities, giving him a broad administrative and coaching background before arriving at Sacred Heart. The move placed him in charge of a program looking to continue its established history while entering a new phase under his direction.
A native of Poland, Niemczynowicz also brings a strong playing background. He competed in NCAA Division I volleyball at Concordia College from 2001 to 2003 and helped the Clippers reach three consecutive Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association playoff appearances. During that stretch, the team climbed as high as No. 13 in the national rankings. As a freshman in 2001, he was named to the EIVA All-Tournament Team after Concordia fell one win short of an automatic NCAA Tournament berth. Niemczynowicz graduated from Concordia in 2004 with a degree in accounting and later earned a master’s degree in physical education with a dual focus in volleyball coaching from the Academy of Physical Education in Gdansk, Poland. After college, he continued playing professionally for many years on both the beach and indoor volleyball circuits.
