Abby Lucas is an assistant coach for Quinnipiac University's field hockey program in Hamden, Connecticut, and enters her fifth season on the staff in 2026, including her fourth working under head coach Nina Klein. Her primary responsibility is with the Bobcats' goalkeepers, a group that has produced several notable results during her tenure.
Under Lucas' work with the position, goalkeeper Cristina Torres posted 10 wins, three shutouts, a 1.51 goals-against average, and 73 saves in the most recent season while logging a career-high 1,041 minutes, including an 80-minute shutout in a 1-0 victory over Lafayette. Torres closed her Quinnipiac career with 25 wins, a 2.22 goals-against average, and 340 saves. In 2024, Torres recorded a career-best 118 saves, highlighted by 16 against Yale and 11 against Villanova, and earned BIG EAST Honor Roll recognition. Quinnipiac also turned in its lowest goals-allowed average since joining the BIG EAST in 2023 at 2.41 per game, and Torres added an 11-save shutout against Maine.
