Abbie Wright is the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Oregon State volleyball program, joining the staff in January 2023 and earning a promotion to associate head coach in June 2024. In her role, she oversees recruiting efforts while contributing to player development and on-court strategy. During her first two seasons, Wright has helped guide the Beavers to key milestones, including wins over ranked opponents and the program’s first All-Conference First Team selections in decades. She has also played a role in developing players who have gone on to professional opportunities, while helping integrate impactful freshman contributors into the lineup.
Prior to Oregon State, Wright built a strong coaching résumé with head coaching experience at both the Division I and II levels. She served as interim head coach at Fresno State in 2022 and previously led Seattle Pacific, where she guided the program to multiple winning seasons. Wright also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Biola, helping the program achieve national success, including a run to the NAIA national championship match and multiple tournament appearances. A former standout setter at Biola, she holds several program records and was recognized early in her coaching career with AVCA national honors. Known for her recruiting acumen and leadership, Wright continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Oregon State’s volleyball program.
