Aaron Marchetti

Assistant Coach

Aaron Marchetti joined the Virginia Tech men’s tennis coaching staff in September 2023. Since then, he has worked to bring his experience as a former Hokie and developer of high-level junior players into the collegiate ranks. His return to the program is rooted in his celebrated playing career at Virginia Tech, where he starred in the 1990s, leading the Hokies to four Atlantic 10 titles and earning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors from 1997 to 1999. In his senior season, he reached No. 15 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings and became one of the program’s first All-Americans. Before stepping into the assistant coach role at Virginia Tech, Marchetti was deeply involved in player development and coaching at the youth and junior levels. He served as Director of Player Development and Coaching at Edmond Center Court, where two of his clients—Brooklyn Olson and Bradley Frye—won USTA national titles under his guidance. He also has a presence in Virginia Tech’s tennis community through summer camps and outreach, helping to identify and cultivate younger talent.
